Pokemon Black and White: Starter Pokemon

The newest installation of Pokemon, has the players choosing between a male and female playable character, much like recent Pokemon games. The difference is that the main characters in Pokemon Black and Pokemon White are older than any of the previous Pokemon games.

Pokemon Black and Pokemon White introduce the first ever Female Pokemon Professor, Professor Juniper.

Team Plasma takes the role of Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma etc.

The most important choice in Pokemon Black and Pokemon White is the same as any other Pokemon game. Which Starter Pokemon will you choose?

The newest Fire Type Starter Pokemon is called Tepig. Tepig is the Fire Pig Pokemon with the ability Blaze, which increases the power of fire type moves when Tepig's hit points (HP) goes below one third.

• Tepig evolves into Pignite at level 17 and then Emboar at level 36.
• When Tepig evolves it acquires the secondary fighting type.
• Tepig has the highest base statistics out of all the starters in Hit Points and Attack as does its evolved forms.
  

Tepig will be very useful for Gyms 2, 3 and 7 as Fighting types are super effective against Normal (Gym 2), Fire types are super effective against Bug (Gym 3) and Fire types are super effective against Ice Types.

The newest Grass Type Starter Pokemon is called Snivy. Snivy is the Grass Snake Pokemon with the ability Overgrow, which increases the power of grass type moves when Snivy's hit points (HP) goes below one third.

• Snivy evolves into Janovy at level 17 and then Servine at level 36.
• When Snivy evolves it does not acquire a secondary type.
• Snivy has the highest base statistics out of all the starters in Defense, Special Defense and Speed as does its evolved forms.
  

Snivy will be very useful for Gym 5 as Grass types are super effective against Ground..
